Danielle was an Aussie expat living in bustling Manhattan when she had the seed of an idea - a house in the country, a restoration project... a bed and breakfast! She started looking for the perfect property, eventually moving to Connecticut and meeting her missing piece - Joe, the breakfast to her bed. Together they spent their weekends travelling all over Connecticut and New York looking for a special place to set their roots and build their dream. Eventually they made their way to the Schoharie Valley and fell in love with the beauty and history of the area and it's proximity to all that rural New York has to offer. They finally found that perfect property - a stunning, spacious Victorian home in the vibrant village community of Middleburgh NY.
Danielle and Joe spent 4 years restoring every inch of the house and gardens to show off it's spectacular architecture and bring their dream of a comfortable, luxury bed and breakfast to life. Their vision was for a beautiful, relaxing place to share, with distinctive design and boutique amenities. As a way to share with more than just those staying at the house they added the social club so that members from near and far can all enjoy the house, including special events, dinners, classes, and more. The house was always a place for gathering and sharing - first in the late 1800s as the home of Dow Beekman, prominent local figure and founder of Middleburgh Boy Scout Troop 1, then later in the 1940s and 50s under the care of the Youmans family as an inn known as Oucongena View.
